Original Photos for Syrup Label
Syrup Label
For this assignment, our instructor told us to make a syrup label, with our face featured on the label, set for a specific time period. The time periods we could choose from were the 50s, 60s, 70s, and 80s. I decided to do the 60s, where many girls were depicted as a "flower child". I then chose that I would represent Passion Flower Syrup, versus the traditional maple syrup. Passion flower is a flower known for it sedative properties and naturally sweet smell and taste. I made an 8X8 page in Photoshop and cropped a selfie of myself that I took in Snap chat, using the flower crown filter. I then chose a tie dyed background to put around me. I smudged the edges of the image of me to make it look softer. Then, I used the clone tools to add different tie die effects around the edges of the image, and to make a few large circles in the bottom right hand corner. After that, I put the Photoshop image into Illustrator, where I wrote the name of my title "Sweet Syrup" on a path. Then I wrote my description "Passion Flower Syrup" and slogan "Swing Back to Serenity". Finally, I changed my image into a JPEG. I love the photo of myself I used for the syrup label, but if I could do anything differently, I would use a different background.

Can Label
For this assignment, we were told to measure a can we are assigned with, and then create a label in Microsoft Publisher that would fit that can. I was assignment a Tomato Paste can. I measured the length and how long my label had to be and create that large of a text box in publisher. Then, I decided I would have "Unicorn Meat in Sparkle Juice" in my can. Using google, I collect a few images to edit on my can. I altered the colors of all the imaged and cropped them to my label. Then, I put a recipe for "Unicorn Sparkle Dessert" and nutrition facts about the unicorn. I then added a bar code, Kosher symbol, recycle symbol, and no dolphins harmed symbol. In the end, I had to cut out the label and test to see if it fit the can. My label fit the can perfectly. My favorite part of my label is the boarder around it, and if I could do anything differently, I would have created my own unicorn to put on the label. In this project, I learned how to make something fit to a specific size criteria.

Recipe Book Original Photos
Recipes
For this assignment, our instructor gave us a certain state or country to make two recipes inspired by them for our class recipe book. I was assigned California. I researched online for Californian recipes. In the end, I decided to do one main dish and one dessert. For my main dish, I chose San Francisco Cioppino. Cioppino is like a seafood stew, featuring many shellfish and bottom feeders. For that page, in Publisher, I created a 8.5" by 5.5" page with a quarter inch margin. I used Word Art to create "Take a Taste of California!". Then, I made a duplicate of the page. Going back to the original, I used World Art again to create "San Francisco Cioppino" and used a boarder to add the California flag into the top right corner. In my own font, I listed the ingredients and gave the directions for how to make Cioppino. As an extra, I even said how many servings the recipe makes. I left a space open for a picture. I then went to the duplicate page, which will hold the recipe "No Bake Lime Avocado Tart". I added the same Californian flag in the top right hand corner and using the same font, I put down the ingredients and directions. After the set up of the Publisher documents were done, I opened Photoshop. In there, I created an image for Cioppino cropping multiple images of the recipe, along with cropped images of herbs, and morphed them together. I then used a blur filter on the entire image. I then uploaded it onto the publisher page and made a boarder around it. Back in Photoshop, I altered an image of the Avacodo Lime Tart making the saturation and hues brighter. I then used the clone tool on another example of the tart and made a boarder around the main image. I then used the same blur filter at the entire image. I changed that picture into a JPEG and put it on its designated recipe page, with the same boarder as the other image. Because I was the first one finished, I received the page number 1 and 2. I learned how to create a recipe book fitting strict criteria in a short amount of time.
